Plain-language summary of what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Last updated: 27 July 2026.

LearnLah is a free practice app for Singapore school subjects. We try to collect as little as possible, and we never sell your data or show ads.

PDPA & where your data is kept

LearnLah is operated in Singapore and handles personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). In plain terms:

  • What we hold:for signed-in parents, an email address and each child's first name/nickname and practice scores - nothing more. Guests are not identified at all (see below).
  • Where it lives: account data is stored with Supabase, a managed PostgreSQL provider, and is reached only through our own server - never directly from your browser.
  • How long we keep it: anonymous usage records are automatically deleted after 90 days. Account and child-progress data is kept only while your account is active - ask us and we delete it.
  • Your PDPA rights: you may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, at any time - just contact us.

If you play as a guest

No account is needed for your first two quizzes. During that free preview, your quiz progress and stars are saved only in your own browser (localStorage) on that device, and we don't receive your name or email. A random, anonymous device id lets us count how the app is used without identifying anyone, and clearing your browser data removes this at any time.

If a parent signs in

Signing in is required to keep practising beyond the first two free quizzes, so your child's progress can follow them across devices instead of staying stuck on one browser. It's passwordless - a one-time email code, or Google. If you sign in, we store:

  • your email address, used only to sign you in and (if you opt in) to send a weekly progress summary;
  • a first name or nickname you choose for each child;
  • each child's quiz progress (best scores per topic), so it syncs across your devices.

We do not ask for a child's full name, birthdate, photo, or any contact details for the child. Data is stored in Supabase (our database provider) and reached only through our server.

Anonymous usage data

So we can see which topics are popular and keep improving the questions, we record a little anonymous, non-identifying information about what's played (like level, subject and score). It is never linked to you or your child, and we don't use it for advertising.

Your choices

  • Guests: clear your browser data to remove local progress.
  • Signed-in parents: to update or delete your account and your children's data, just contact us and we'll take care of it.
  • Weekly email: every summary has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can withdraw consent any time.

Children

LearnLah is built for children to use with a parent or teacher. The only personal data tied to a child is a first name/nickname and their practice scores, all under a parent's account and control.

Questions

If you have any question about your data, please get in touch. We'll update this page whenever our practices change.
