Frequently asked questions
Short, honest answers. Still stuck? Email hello@learnlah.app and a person will reply.
Is it really free?
Yes. Core practice is 100% free. There is no credit card and no sales call, ever. It stays free because it costs very little to run. We do not say “free forever” because we can't promise nothing will ever change, but there is no cost today and none planned for the practice you see now.
Do I need an account?
Try it instantly. Create a free account after two quizzes to save progress. No credit card. Children can try their first two quizzes straight away with progress saved on the device; after that, a free account (a magic link or Google, no password, no card) keeps their progress synced across every device. A parent can also sign in early to track more than one child.
Which levels and subjects are covered?
Primary 1 to 6 and Secondary 1 to 4, with 11,000+ questions in all. Maths and English through Primary, Science from Primary 3, and Coding across both Primary and Secondary. At Secondary 3 and 4 the O-Level subjects split out into E-Maths, A-Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. There is also experimental Mother Tongue exposure (Hindi), which is informal and not an MOE syllabus subject. Every question comes with a “Why?” explanation. Browse a few real questions to see the quality.
How are the questions made?
Questions are AI-generated and then curated with a person in the loop: checked against the Singapore syllabus objectives, calibrated for difficulty against past-paper patterns, and reviewed for correctness and wording. There is a Report a problem button under every question. Reports are logged and reviewed regularly, and flagged questions get re-checked and fixed or removed. We do not claim these are reviewed by certified teachers or affiliated with MOE, just aligned to the syllabus and continuously improved from real use.
Who makes LearnLah?
LearnLah is a collaborative effort by parents and technology professionals in Singapore, created to make quality school practice simpler and more accessible. Read more on the About page.
How does the quiz, WordDash and scoring all work?
A full walkthrough - picking a class, answering questions, WordDash, what the Report Card numbers mean, and what a signed-in parent can see - is on the Platform tour page.
How is this different from Koobits, Geniebook or free MOE resources?
Most paid platforms want an account (and often a sales call) before your child answers a single question; most free resources are static PDFs with no marking or explanation. LearnLah sits in between: open the link and practise instantly, understand why each answer is right, close the tab. No login to start, no ads, no data sold, and an explanation on every question. It is a light, honest practice tool, not a full tuition replacement.
Is my child's data safe?
We collect as little as possible and never sell data or show ads. Guests are not identified at all. For signed-in parents we store only an email and each child's first name and scores. See the Privacy page for the full detail, including PDPA and how long data is kept.
Can teachers use it in class?
Yes, and it works well because students can start straight away with no account (their first two quizzes are free), and nothing is collected from them while they play as a guest. Paste a topic link into Google Classroom or the class chat and every student can start on their own device. See For teachers.
I found a wrong or confusing question. What do I do?
Tap Report a problem under the question, or contact us. Reports are logged and reviewed regularly, and a question that turns out to be wrong or confusing gets fixed or removed.
Does it work on any device?
Yes, any phone, tablet or computer with a browser. Nothing to install. On a phone you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
